Seeking a Passionate Cook for Our Senior Living Community!



Are you a culinary wizard with a heart full of compassion? We're looking for a talented Cook to join our close-knit team at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community. Your delicious creations will bring joy and nourishment to our beloved residents. If you have a love for cooking and a special place in your heart for seniors, we'd love to meet you!



This position averages 30 hrs/week and alternates weekends.

Responsibilities:
--- Prepare mouthwatering, nutritious meals
--- Cater to dietary needs and preferences
--- Create a warm, inviting dining experience

Qualifications:
--- Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking and food preparation, with a focus on preparing delicious and nutritious meals
--- Experience: Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a similar setting, such as a senior living community, healthcare facility, or restaurant
--- Food Safety: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure meals are prepared and served in a safe and hygienic manner
--- Menu Planning: The ability to plan and develop menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of senior residents
--- Compassion and Patience: A compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with seniors, as well as a genuine interest in their well-being
--- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to work with residents, their families, and the dining services team
--- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule
--- Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing dietary needs and preferences, and a willingness to accommodate special requests
--- Teamwork: Collaboration with other kitchen staff and dining services personnel to create a positive dining experience for residents
--- Certification: ServSafe preferred
--- Physical Stamina: The role may involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy pots and pans, and other physically demanding tasks
--- Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
