VitalCore Health Strategies, (VCHS), an industry leader in correctional healthcare, has an opening for a *Physical Therapist at Coffeewood Correctional Center in Mitchells, VA. *

*PHYSICAL THERAPIST POSITION SUMMARY*

The Physical Therapist (PT) assists patients (inmates) who have lost motor function due to injury, illness, or disability and create a plan for rehabilitation. The PT works under supervision of the Site Medical Director and is an integral part of the medical team at their facility.

*PHYSICAL THERAPIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
* Ensures patient observation for therapy evaluations, formulates treatment plans, and provides treatment.
* Documents pertinent observations and logical conclusions to validate need for treatment.
* Analyzes treatment plans utilizing various technique which may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, functional training, and mechanical modalities.
* Utilizes available in-house resource personnel for treatment and resolution of identified problems before utilizing off-site referral.
* Demonstrates proper technique of patient management according to established policy and licensure requirements.
* Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel.
* Maintains professional relationship with other staff members and a positive work atmosphere through ongoing communication.
* Obeys all security rules for medical personnel in corrections setting as outlined in DOC policies.

*PHYSICAL THERAPIST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*

- Must possess a current, unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist in the practicing state and maintain knowledge of licensure laws/regulations.

- Must have passed National Physical Therapy Examination administered by FSBPT.

- One year of specialized experience to successfully perform the duties of the position.
